‘ROOTS SPECIAL’ AT THE GUMBO ROOM
In conjunction with The Gov, Adelaide Roots and Blues Association is to conduct a no-charge ‘Roots Special’ in the Gumbo Room on Thursday night, starting at the earlier time of 8 pm.
Ahead of announcement of the ARBA Roots Album Of The Year with trophy presentation by last year’s winning act Kelly Menhennett, three featured roots acts, Brenton Manser, Kelly Menhennett and The Timbers will perform 3 songs each.
After a short performance by Billy Bob’s house band, from about 9.30 pm, a casual jam will allow rostered short stints by attending roots and blues artists.
At stages during the night, there will be raffle draws for three batches of copies of 3, 4 and 5 CD’s as entered in the recent Roots Album contest and via tickets given with drinks purchases, three double passes to Deep South Festival sessions.
ARBA merchandise and memberships will be available as well as the usual fare of $10 gumbo stew and light snacks.
It should be a good night for all to enjoy .. and participate.
