Through South Australian Roots & Blues (SARB), in two-year cycles from 2008 to 2014, a range of awards was made to SA blues-related individuals and groups for Musicianship and Service and in alternate years, for 'Best SA Blues Album' (an award for 'Best SA Roots CD' was added in 2013).

SARB web-master David Stoeckel has now passed the active organisation of future awards to the Adelaide Roots and Blues Association (ARBA).
Coming Up Soon ...
ARBA will conduct a competition for SA Blues Album of 2014-15 out of act-nominated CD's released in the period from October 2013 (after the last SARB deadline) to June 2015, with award presentations for the top three CD finalists and winner to be at the ARBA International Blues Music Day event on Saturday, August 1st.
More details and entry forms will be available on the Album Awards page of the ARBA web-site from early June.
If the winning album fits IBC eligibility criteria, the ARBA committee may submit the winning album to the (Memphis, USA) Blues Foundation Best Self-Produced CD competition, see http://www.blues.org/international-blues-challenge/self-produced-cd
And In Future ...
A contest for SA Roots Album of 2014-15 out of releases from October 2013 to September 2015 is planned, with award presentations at a later Roots Showcase event.
After this year's 'catch-ups', ARBA's competitions for Blues and Roots albums will be held on an annual basis.
For now, ARBA's live Memphis Blues Challenge event, held in June 2015 and annually thereafter, will take the place of SARB's previous biennial 'Musician' and 'Band' awards.
