Each year in June the Adelaide Roots and Blues Association will be hosting the ARBA Memphis Blues Challenge. The aim of the event is to send the finest Blues artists to represent ARBA and South Australia at the IBC (the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee).
In 2015, (the inaugural year of the ARBA Blues Challenge) ARBA are conducting two separate competitions within the Blues Challenge – Band and Solo/Duo. the heats and finals will be held this year at The Semaphore Workers Club Blues musicians throughout South Australia will have the opportunity to compete for industry recognition and the highest honour of representing ARBA and South Australia at the IBC Memphis in 2016. The winning acts will be provided monetary assistance towards airfares and accommodation by ARBA and our sponsors. Winners will also have the opportunity to raise further funds for the trip to Memphis with the support of ARBA.

An informal Information Night and a great networking opportunity, will be held at 7.00pm on the 19th of March at the Gov. front bar. There will be nibbles to fight the hunger whilst presenting your in-depth thoughts the panel. We will begin with a talk from Mick Young and Peter Allan followed by Q&A in which we hope to answer and satisfy all questions regarding The ARBA Memphis Blues Challenge. Information and registration forms will be available on the night. Come along and enjoy a drink or two and stay for some very fine Blues with Two Bugs and a Roach followed by the gumbo Jam!

This Saturday we embark on the first ever Adelaide Blues Cruise. This extremely successful event is run in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane where it has become somewhat of an institution. It would be fantastic to see as many people as possible get behind it to ensure it's the first of many
We board at 7pm sharp (please note there are no tickets available on the night due to catering) with just enough time to pick up a complimentary drink and get comfortable before Mick Kidd launches into his first set. After a short interval Mick will play another short set before Lazy Eye performs the first of 2 sets. Intermingled with tasty Canapes (included in the cost of ticket) will one last bracket from Mick, Lazy Eye finish the night off. Blues echoing across the tranquil waters of Port Adelaide.
